One Family Bible Class

Because of the church picnic following the service on August 28, there will be no Sunday Bible Class on that date.

Stewardship Sentence
Luke 14:11 "For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted." The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: that's called humility. The Lord is God and we are not. With that in mind, how could we not seek to follow His Word in all aspects of life? He knows what He is talking about and we don't. If you believe that, then striking out on a path of faithfulness in the realm of stewardship is a lot easier: it just makes sense.

Women's Tuesday Morning Bible Study
Please join our Women's Tuesday morning Bible Study as we explore the Fruit of the Spirit using the study guide "Living Beyond Yourself!" Whether you are new to Bible study or been at it for years we'd enjoy having you join us for fellowship, sharing and support. We'll start meet Tuesday, September 13 at 9:15am. Please contact Carol Froesel (822-1365) or Jeanne Clark (821-0522) if you are interested or have questions.

Annual Picnic
August 28th will be a very special Sunday. First, we will have a special service recognizing and honoring Glendale's police and firefighters and thanking them for their service. The annual church picnic will follow on the front lawn. There will be games for the kids and entertainment for the adults. The Maple Jam Band will share their gift of music at the picnic. Hot dogs, etc. will be provided. Plan to bring a dish to share at the picnic. It promises to be a great day.

National Youth Gathering Presentation September 18
Join our youth on Sunday, Sept. 18 during the Bible class hour (previously announced as Sept. 11) and see them share about their experiences at the recent National Youth Gathering. Come hear how they experienced what it means to have life in Christ Alone.

Youth Room Donation
Thanks to Mary Ann Faeth, the Youth Room has an excellent addition!  Please go by the Youth Room to enjoy the slate top pool table donated by Mary Ann Faeth.  It will be a pleasure to play on the new-to-us pool table which will serve us for many years.  Thank you to Mary Ann Faeth for your generosity and blessings to you always.

Outreach

Check out the Latest Baker Bulletin
The latest newsletter from David Baker in Mongolia is now posted on the Outreach bulletin board. Please take a moment to stop and read it. David tells about a wonderful interaction with a young Muslim man and how he became a Christian.
Prayer requests from David:
  • Pray for "White Blessing" and that his new faith grows and that he be protected as he enters the military
  • Pray for the registration process for their newest congregation
  • Pray for Nazerke who was just married

Knoble Knotters
The Knoble Knotters will start knotting again on Thursday, September 8. We can always use more knotters. Thank you to Vivian Kattentidt for her donation of sheets and large pieces of fabric. Sheets are especially good to use to make the back one piece of fabric.

Choir
Make a joyful noise to the Lord! Choir rehearsals start again on September7 at 7:30pm. If you can carry a tune, please consider joining us. We will have new music, as well as old favorites
