Pastor Scott's Message
Glendale Lutheran church welcomes Lutheran Church Extension Fund Vice President, Casey Carlson, to our church this Sunday the 29th. He is going to tell us all about the good things LCEF does for the synod, church workers and congregations. We are blessed to have leaders like Casey and an organization like LCEF.
LCEF has helped our family to consolidate our debt coming out of seminary. They also have programs to help church workers buy a house. They have savings accounts for kids and adults. They have retirement and Health savings accounts.  They are a non profit so all of their interest goes back to Lutheran ministries.
Our leadership council voted to pay off most of our member loans and convert them to one $800,000 loan that will be through LCEF. This allows us to keep our promise to those faithful initial members who helped build the new building and work with a organization that shares our values. You can help. If we get 37 new investors, we will get a shared blessings rebate of around $2,000. Grandparents can make each grandchild part of that number with an initial investment of $25. The Y.I. club actually gets 3.5% interest which is unbelievable. And LCEF will send them stewardship mailings that teach them about money. Adults can get 3% through ConnectPLUS with a $500 investment. They don't have to be members of the church either. Just make sure the registration form lists "Glendale Lutheran" as their designated church. Let's share the blessings all around.

Daily Bible Readings

Notes from the Music Director - "HELP"

The choir needs 2-3 tenors for the 75th Anniversary Service on May 6th. Please join us for choir rehearsal on Wednesday, May 2 at 7:00pm in the choir room. FYI--low altos can also sing tenor! Thank you!

75th Celebration Brunch
Join us on Sunday, May 6 at 10:30am for a special 75th Anniversary Brunch in the gym. It promises to be a gathering of fun, fellowship, and delicious food, with a few surprises as well! We appreciate your donations and famous recipes to help make this an unforgettable event. See the sign-up sheet on the center kiosk for details. Call Lisa Grossenheider at 314-965-2667 with questions. See you there!
Yard Work Volunteer Wanted
We are looking for a volunteer to maintain the boxwood bushes on our campus. Bushes should be trimmed as necessary (2 to 3 times per year). It is estimated to take two to three hours to trim. We will provide a cordless trimmer unless you prefer to use you own. Please let Michelle know if you are willing to take responsibility for this seasonal task.
Save the Date--Saturday, May 12
We are expecting over 3000 guests for the up-coming JazzFest on May 25. Would you consider joining together to make sure our property is looking its best? For many many neighbors we have a one time chance to make a great first impression. We are planning a work day for Saturday, May 12. (May 19 will be our back up date if the weather fails to cooperate on the 12th.) Please let Michelle know if you can plan to schedule that morning so that, in turn, we can properly plan what we can complete in that timeframe.
