One Family Bible Class
As the kids take a vacation from Sunday School, it gives us adults an opportunity to tackle a timely issue. Join us in the Family Life Center over the next 4 weeks as we study "The Intersection of Church and State." This is an award winning, video based Bible study produced by Lutheran Hour Ministries. With issues of religious freedom becoming more and more prevalent it is important to understand what God's Word has to say about the Church and the state. Join us.

Stewardship Sentence
Luke 19:46 "It is written, 'My house shall be a house of prayer,' but you have made it a den of robbers." The Lord's House is not a house of merchandize or profit - it is a House of Prayer where people freely offer up their petitions to the Lord and their produce for his purposes. Not compulsion or sharp dealing, but generosity and joy characterize the House of the Lord. "Freely you have received; freely give." That's pretty much the opposite of the world's marketplace!

Tuesday Morning Bible Study
There will be no Bible Study this Tuesday, August 2, due to Pastor Wise being on vacation.
Leadership/Elder Nominations
The Leadership Council is seeking two candidates to serve three-year terms on Leadership Council and two candidates to serve three-year terms as Elders. The terms are set to begin in October 2016. Please let Andy Ryan know any recommendations you have for nominees. He can be reached at 314-446-4208 (office phone) or at 314-398-7505 (cell phone), or by email at aryan@sandbergphoenix.com. Please brings donations and place in our shopping cart by the Family Life Center. Suggested items are: protein (canned chicken, tuna, peanut butter, etc.), pasta and sauces (Chef Boyardee, etc.), or canned fruit.
Annual Outdoor Worship & Picnic
August 28 kicks off the Sunday School year with the annual outdoor worship service. Brats will be served at the picnic following the service, and the Maple Jam Band will provide musical entertainment. Bring a dessert or dish to share!
