Weekly Newsletter

Glimpses of Glendale
Glendale Lutheran Church Newsletter
March 26, 2020
All of us value coming together on Sunday mornings for worship. This week might be the first time you’ve wanted to come to church, were in town and didn’t come to Glendale Lutheran. Corona virus is forcing us to make hard choices. You’ve made the hard decision to stay away. Leadership has made the hard decision to ask you to worship from home. Volunteers have made the hard decision to venture outside to help with the worship service so we all can be blessed.

My whole goal in this crisis is to strengthen our faith. The Holy Spirit still ties us together. We will get through this by the grace of God. Here is what we are doing to unify us as a congregation:

  • Worship is online at 9:15am Sunday on the website (www.glendalelc.com) Last week we had 70 households.
  • Special Services include this Wednesday 6:30pm, Maundy Thursday 6:30pm and Good Friday 6:30pm.
  • Bulletins are on the website and emailed to you.
  • Communion is available during the week in my office. Call my cell at 805-345-6658.
  • The new Portals of Prayer and Hopeful Living devotions are in the church entryway.
  • I’ve uploaded all of my past written sermons. They are on the website under “Archive of Past Sermons.”
  • You can give your offering electronically on the website or through the mail.
  • On Mondays on Facebook, I’m posting a video previewing the daily Bible verses for the week.
  • Michelle is working from home. You can email her at mfiala@glendalelutheranchurch.org
  • Text me Sunday morning with your prayer requests. I will also take your texts and calls during the Adult Bible Class.

As I said yesterday in the sermon, Jesus saw Zacchaeus in a crowd and he sees you also. He loves you and is with you in your home. You’ll see me Sunday. I’ll see you soon.
