Pastor Scott's Message

Two big things at Glendale this weekend, Holy Yoga and CCLS Sunday. Holy Yoga is Saturday the 9th from 9-10am in the Family Life center. Cathy Frazier, a CCLS preschool teacher, leads. There are so many reasons for you to come to this.First, it is good to try new things. When we do, God can speak to us. Holy yoga is healthy for your body, mind and soul. Combining worship and exercise heals. As we are learning in Matthew, Jesus loves to restore us. Also, this is a great opportunity to create connections and friendships. There is a bond formed when a room full of people are focused on the same worthy task. Finally, you are supporting the outreach mission of Glendale Lutheran. Everybody is looking for a place to gather and feel connected. This can be that for our church community, CCLS families and teachers and our neighbors. If you aren’t able to come to Holy Yoga, pray that God blesses it. It will meet every other Saturday and every Tuesday from 4-5pm. I encourage members to donate $5 per session.

The next day is CCLS Sunday. It’s our annual way of thanking God for this ministry. The communications team has been hard at work, advertising through flyers, local papers and social media. I have talked with many families in person. We want our guests on Sunday to be overwhelmed with hospitality. Go up to a new family and say “It’s great to meet you. Introduce me to your family.” The church service will be kid-friendly. The little ones will sing a cute song. After worship everyone comes down to the gym where there will be a light breakfast and games for the kids. God has brought dozens of families to our property. On Sunday he draws them to our service. It’s up to us to make them feel special because they are special to God. See you there!
