Faith Formation Ministry

In Christ Alone - Bible Study of Philippians in preparation for the National Youth Gathering

Beginning this Sunday in the Youth Room, Pastor Wise will lead the Bible study entitle "In Christ Alone." All youth going to the National Youth Gathering are strongly encouraged to attend along with their parents/families. And anyone in the congregation can join us as we support our youth in their preparations. This is a 4 week study that will go through the four Sundays of April. Please join us.

One Family Bible Class
For the month of April, Seminarian Nate McCarty will be leading the adult Bible class in the Family Life Center. This Sunday we will look at the Sermon on the Mount.
Stewardship Sentence

John 20:19 "On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you." Fear is the opposite of faith, that is, the kind of cringing fear we have in the face of something that is hostile to us and more powerful to us. Jesus spends a lot of His time telling the disciples to not be afraid. Our fears constantly hem us in and prevent us from following the Lord's will. But there is no need to fear. Jesus has conquered. No fear can keep us locked up: we have been set free by Jesus for lives that declare His marvelous deeds.
Women's Evening Bible Study
The Thursday evening Bible study began a new study on February 18. The study guide is "God's Love Through You: A Guide to 1 John." All women are welcome; gathering together is a great opportunity to share prayer concerns and be strengthened by God's Work and by each other. Eighteen women currently are a part of this group; not all can attend every time and that is understood. We meet on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7:00pm.

Women's Tuesday Morning Bible Study
Beginning Tuesday, February 23 at 9:15am we started a new seven week Bible study. Please consider joining us as we explore "Discerning the Voice of God" presented by Priscilla Shirer. Through this study you will become more familiar with God's Holy Spirit, His character, language, and tone of voice. Call Carol Froesel or Jeanne Clark if you have any questions.

Youth News

Thank you so much to everyone who came to support the youth at the Easter Breakfast! We hope you enjoyed the food and fellowship!

Outreach

Pancake Breakfast

Glendale Lutheran will be hosting a pancake breakfast for our CCLS Preschool families on Wednesday, April 13 from 7:30am-9:00am.

Children's Worship Materials
We are looking for someone to take charge of the children's worship materials at the back  of the church. This would entail periodically checking the bags to ensure each is stocked with paper, crayons, etc. If you are interesting in serving this way, please contact the church office.

Vision Task Force Survey Results

Results from the congregational vision survey will be presented immediately following the April 17 Sunday morning church service by the Vision Task Force. We all would be pleased to see you there. Our presentation will be on the brief side (under 20 minutes maximum) including a bit of time for questions about the survey. We promise that you will find the results interesting and, we hope, helpful.

Two Twelve Cup Coffee Makers

Two new in the box coffee makers stored in the lower cabinets in the Youth room have been misplaced. If anyone knows where they may be found please inform Michelle in the church office

Thank You

Thanks for all the cards and good wishes on the occasion of my 90th birthday. I am blessed to have such a caring church family.
- Jack Rutter
