Pastor Scott's Message

Tomorrow morning, Friday, September 27th, we are renewing our sanctuary pews. We have a lot of pews and need a lot of people. Gene Smith has done a lot of prework, sanding down problem areas on the wood. Jeannie and Ken Clark also have prepared the pews and the wood in the entrance area. The last time the pews were renewed was over ten years ago. This is our opportunity to make our worship space more welcoming and vibrant.
We believe and preach that God makes all things new and our property should reflect that. People are drawn to places that looked cared for and loved. I’m grateful to Jerry and his property team. Carol and Jeannie have been tending to the twelve trees near the parking lot we call the twelve apostles. Ken and Roger recently put in mulch. Andy Ortstadt installed a new intercom system for the front door. Paul Barbercheck designed the new door signage that proclaims “We’re Glad you are Here” as well as the logos for our church and CCLS. All of these things make a difference. We love this place God has given us.
We need to continually brighten up our spaces with guests in mind. We would continue to love this place even if it did get run down because this is our home. But new people can only judge their experience here based on how it makes them initially feel. We want them to feel welcomed, hopeful, and energized because that is what God does for us. Help us do that tomorrow by polishing a pew.
