Pastor Scott's Message One of my jobs as pastor is to promote member entrepreneurship. I don't mean that I want you to start a business, I mean I want you to start ministries. The Barberchecks started a ministry called Okotoberfest which meets this Saturday at 6pm at their home, 629 Bonita Ave, Webster Groves. They have the gift of hospitality so they open their lovely home and backyard to the church and our friends for an evening of Beer, Brats and Conversation. My family went last year and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was more than a church social gathering. It took on the personality of the Barbercheck family. We weren't just anonymous guests; we were invited guests. The Gospel flows from events like this because the Gospel is personal. Thank you Barberchecks and everyone who helps make Okotberfest a joy. Last weekend we had another example of an entrepreneurial event. Lauren Mistler and Kelly Climer hosted a Halloween themed movie night for kids and their parents last Friday. They posted it on social media. Teachers Marcia Ladd and Janet Leet promoted it in their CCLS classes. They didn't know how many they were going to get. 50 kids and their parents showed up to watch "Hotel Transylvania 3" on the big screen in the youth room! There were Glendale families, elementary families and preschool families. All because Lauren and Kelly had an idea and followed through. If you have an idea; let us know. It could be a fellowship event like those above. Or it could be a Bible Study or outreach possibility. God works through his people. The Holy Spirit is giving all of us inspirations. Listen to the Spirit and make your idea happen. Let us help.

Voters' Meeting A Special Voters' Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, October 28, 2018, in the Family Life Center immediately following service to elect Leadership Council members and Elders. Bob Jacobson and Rodger Lubben have been nominated to serve three-year terms on the Leadership Council. Ron Froesel has been nominated to extend his term for another year as an Elder. Additionally, we will ask the congregation to approve a resolution that will allow us to obtain a line of credit from Lutheran Church Extension Fund to accompany our mortgage loan conversation. We will have a copy of the resolution in your mailboxes this weekend so you can review the language we propose. Additionally, we will have updates at the Voters' Meeting on the courtyard project along with information on the pricing estimates we have obtained. Please plan on attending the Meeting to vote on our leadership candidates and the line of credit resolution and to listen to courtyard project developments.

...I enjoy your very clever Ink Links...not only I enjoy it, but all the boys in the radio shack think its a darn good idea...nice to know where your buddies are and sometimes it is a great help in looking them up if you happen to get near to the island they're on...I am getting to see quite a few islands here in the Pacific...a couple I can't name...last one was Okinawa...Thank you again.
