Pastor Scott's Message We proclaim exciting news! Glendale Lutheran is hosting the City's annual Jazzfest this year. It's Friday May 25th, starting at 5:30pm. My family enjoyed Jazzfest 6 years ago when I was in seminary. If you've never gone, it's a night of families soaking up high quality Jazz bands, local food and rubbing elbows with your neighbors. Glendale's is the longest running jazz festival in St. Louis. Last year I invited the city manager, Jaysen Christensen, to tour our church. We got to know each other and he got to see how God has blessed our church. Since then, it has become clear that the city hall construction project will not be done by May. The city came to us because we are the only property in Glendale big enough to handle 3,500 people and the staging. I brought the opportunity to the council and they were delighted. Jazzfest fits so many of our goals. It allows us to use our gift of hospitality. It is a chance to keep a beloved Glendale event going. It gets thousands of neighbors familiar with our property. It allows us to support the arts. Hosting shows that Lutherans enjoy a good time. Most importantly, it is an opportunity to connect our church family to the community. I am putting a team together who will be on site for Jazzfest. I'm looking for hospitable people who enjoy music and meeting neighbors. If that sounds like you then talk to me about it. God is moving in new ways. |

Family Life Center Clouded Windows have been replaced New operating doors were installed last week. Now we have a floor to ceiling glass wall while closed but, when open, all three panels will stack to the left and right to create two wide archways that invite to the outdoors. Many thanks go to our professional installer aptly assisted by our own very handy Rod Nobis.
