I received the following letter from Kirk Care the first week of February.
Dear Pastor Scott,
Thank you for the use of the Glendale Lutheran Church facilities for us to partner with Keith Rawlings and Kirkwood Youth In Action group for a free food giveaway drive-thru event this past weekend. It was great to see the support from this organization and members of your congregation. A special thanks to Ken Clark for all of his assistance with the event inventory and allowing us to have church access. Also a huge thanks to volunteers from your congregation that assisted with deliveries yesterday afternoon. Between volunteers from Kirk Care and your congregation, we were able to deliver all boxes to those in need and move excess packing inventory back to the Kirk Care pantry within 1 1/2 hours--THANK YOU!!
While the weather did not cooperate for our event on Saturday morning, we were able to distribute all 100 boxes prepared by Kirkwood Youth In Action to those in most need within our community this past weekend. In total, we served 242 family members of which 119 were children under 18 years old--AWESOME! Thank you again for Glendale Lutheran Church's ongoing commitment to Kirk Care in our mission to feed the hungry within our community.
Gratefully yours,
Larry Watson, President
