Glimpses of Glendale

Last Sunday was glorious! Every Sunday we get together is good. Every resurrection Sunday is great. But gathering so many together in person and online was heartwarming. I teared up a little during “Crown Him with Many Crowns.” I hadn’t heard that powerful a sound in the sanctuary in over a year. In the first service we had one hundred of God’s children belting out praise. In the second service we had almost sixty.

We had long-time members come back after being gone for almost a year. I could tell how much it meant to them. I hope they know how much it meant to me to see them back. Everyone needs to decide when to return to worship. I don’t want anyone feeling judged on that count. But also know that your presence here makes a difference. You worshipping in the flesh is an encouragement.

It was also an honor to give communion to those who had been deprived for so long. It’s one of the things that you can’t substitute. You can be in the word. You can worship with us online. But receiving Christ’s body and blood can only be done together. All of us have a better appreciation for that now. I’m excited about what the future holds for Glendale Lutheran Church. We are all here for a reason. He is Risen!
Please wear a mask during worship services.
