Glimpses of Glendale
Glendale Lutheran Church Newsletter
May 6, 2021
Today was the National Day of Prayer. In previous years, I attended the occasion at the Glendale City which was organized by the former mayor’s wife. Glendale did not host this year so I joined the Murphy family at Warson Wood’s ceremony. We prayed for an hour for our country, state and city. You might not have attended the event today but you can still pray. These were the areas we prayed for:

  • Family - Fill our families, drawing us closer to the Lord and one another. Make our families your instruments of love, life and liberty in the communities where you have placed us. (Acts 17)

  • Church - Unite us in love, bringing churches together to spread the Gospel and to do justice. (Gal. 6)

  • Workplace - Be filled taught, and inspired with the Word to be equipped for every good work. (1 Tim. 3)

  • Education - Be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. (Col. 1)

  • Military - As far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. (Romans 12)

  • Government - All elected and appointed officials would be filled with discernment and wisdom, bringing justice to the oppressed and good things to all. (Isaiah 11)

  • Art, Media and Entertainment - That the Holy Spirit would inspire story tellers to show beauty and truth. (1 Peter 4)

Pray for yourself, your family, your neighbors and our world.
Please wear a mask during worship services.
