Glimpses of Glendale Glendale Lutheran Church Newsletter   September 7, 2023 Choir Rehearsal Our first choir rehearsal will be Tuesday, September 12 at 7:00. We will meet in the choir room. Come join us and find out more about what we’ll do together this fall!  Women's Tuesday Morning Bible Study The Women’s Tuesday morning Bible Study will begin September 12th at 9:15 to study “Growing Older & Wiser”. Life expectancies have stretched, but the Bible reveals that human nature has not changed. Wisdom does not automatically come with age. However, we can get wiser as we get older, if we tap into the eternal wisdom of God. These 9 studies offer a biblical perspective on aging and show how powerfully God can use those who have grown wiser with the years. You will read about older people who should have listened to younger people and vice versa. You will find honest expressions of fear and hope as the years accumulate and death looms closer. Throughout all of these stories you will find the constancy of God. Look forward to having you join us - please call Jeanne (821-0522) or Carol (822-1365) if you have any questions.   Winter Clothing & Toy Drive On October 7, Hands On Kirkwood will hold its annual “Free Winter Clothing & Toy Store.” Items to collect include coats, hats, gloves, sweaters, boots, and jeans for men, women and children sizes. We are also collecting toys, bicycles, children's books and diapers. Please make sure all items are clean and in good condition.    This event provides winter clothing items for all ages to those in need within our community free of charge. It continues to grow each year. Please help this event continue to grow by donating items to the collection box in the hallway. Collection deadline is September 24. Thank you!
